This spell calms ocean and inland waters. It reduces wave action in the area of effect to the equivalent of calm seas. Chops, whitecaps and violent storm waves are eliminated, although there might be a noticeable swell in the calm water if the sea itself is storm-tossed.

You can sense the presence of water in a quarter circle emanating out from you in whatever direction you face. The amount of information revealed depends on how long you study a particular area:
1st round: Presence or absence of water.
2nd round: Number of water sources, size of largest source.
3rd round: Size and location of all water sources. Size is measured in quarts if limited or 'a lot' if a great quantity.
A successful Knowledge (nature) or Wilderness Lore check (DC 20) will reveal the purity of detected water sources.
Note: each round you can turn to detect things in a new area. This spell is not blocked by intervening substances.

You create an unattended iron object up to 1" thick per four caster levels. The surface area of the item created cannot normally exceed 5 square feet per caster level, although you can double the surface area by halving the thickness. The object must be made out of a single piece of iron with no moving parts. You must succeed at an appropriate craft check to make a complex item.
The caster may later cast this spell again on any piece of iron that he has created with this spell in order to work on modifying the item. This is how spellcaster artists often make fine iron statues. A final casting of this spell "locks it in place" and it may no longer be modified by further castings. Until this final "locking" the object will detect as magical. Casting a dispel magic on the object will not dispell the object itself but it will also "lock" it in place.
The object must be created so as to rest on the ground or similar support, and cannot be cast in a space occupied by another object.
A caster can create his iron with one or more rough sides and later he, or another caster, can use another ironform to create iron perfectly joined to the first on that side - and there will be no seam or weakness at the joining. This makes it a good spell for creating iron reinforcements for walls.
Arcane Material component: A small piece of sheet iron plus gold dust worth 50gp (1 pound of gold dust).
